I've been playing trio since I was 17 years old. It has always been my favorite musical configuration. My heroes - Gene Harris, Bill Evans, Thelonious Monk, Oscar Peterson, Ahmad Jamal....and on and on, have never but inspired me to search for my own sound. The trio for me is the basis for everything that I do. It's a complete theatrical play in three acts.
My trio sound has always been evolving over the years, mostly depending on the drummer. For it's the interplay that happens between me and the drums that creates all of the drama and excitement on stage. The bass is the glue that brings it all together. I've been blessed to have had nothing but the greatest rhythm sections in the world join me on the voyage through my musical safari.
